Dementia Care Assistants in accordance with §45c SGB XI relieve family caregivers in their daily tasks and accompany people with dementia to appointments, such as shopping or medical visits. You will be available for conversations about everyday matters and their concerns, providing security and orientation through your presence.

The qualification consists of 40 units and is offered on a full-time basis.


 


Would you like to volunteer or engage in a voluntary capacity and need professional preparation for a responsible role? Our program is also aimed at individuals who wish to support family members with dementia.

 


Professional Experience and Prior Knowledge Are Not Required.

  • Module 3: Self-Experience and Life Worlds of People with Dementia

  • Module 4: Impact of Dementia on the Surrounding Environment

  • Module 5: Legal Aspects

  • Module 6: Voluntary Helpers

Our central locations in Hagen and Witten (5 minutes from the main train station) offer spacious, modern training and seminar rooms equipped with the latest technology. These facilities provide an optimal, family-like learning atmosphere and high-quality training in small groups.
Our instructors form a strong team of qualified and dedicated professionals with many years of experience. They prepare you effectively for future professional demands. All our instructors focus not only on the qualification objectives but also take personal circumstances into account, providing you with guidance and support every step of the way.
After the qualification, you can be deployed in the home environment of one or more individuals with dementia, motivating and supporting them in daily activities. Our course provides basic knowledge on gerontopsychiatric disorders, legal aspects, and the environment of dementia patients, as well as possible daily activities.
